Greetings right back at ya, San Francisco. One day, I’m headed right for you…waxandmilk:

Pictory Mag presents: Twenty-Nine Portraits, One City
Started by Laura Brunow Minor after the fall of JPG magazine (sadface), Pictory is an online photo publication showcasing some of the best user-submitted photography based on different themes. Their current theme is a feature on the city of San Francisco, with more cities to be determined in the future.
Really epic photos throughout, as well as good narratives from the photographers themselves.
VIEW THE SHOWCASE HERE: http://www.pictorymag.com/showcases/san-francisco/
Thanks to Frank Chimero for the heads up.

Quote reblogged from psychobabble with 165 notes

We find a place for what we lose. Although we know that after such a loss the acute stage of mourning will subside, we also know that a part of us shall remain inconsolable and never find a substitute. No matter what may fill the gap, even if it is completely filled, it will nevertheless remain something changed forever…

Vintage LandSpeeder, C-3PO and Tusken Raider
I think I’ve just found my own personal nostalgic heaven. http://ratherchildish.wordpress.com is a photographic journal of mostly vintage Star Wars action figures, from the late seventies and early eighties.I have a bag of these actual figures in my spare room, with the cloaks, guns, yoda’s staff and snake etc all kept safely in an airtight tin. Unfortunately due to the unstable nature of some of the plastic produced in this period, the Millenium Falcon became highly fragile, Ice Station Hoth turned completely yellow and Rocket Launching Boba Fett began to melt, so these are no longer part of the collection. Father Ghosto had to throw them away once they had gone past the point of no return or repair…These little pieces of plastic hold so many memories for me, and are now the only physical link to the big brother I lost that is left. Finding this website has brought everything back so strongly that I feel a need to go through that bag in the spare room and re-enact some epic moments. Damn Christmas and it’s ability to make me all melancholy for times past and people not with us anymore.

Oh, don’t worry. I already have. Twice. Also for iPod so I can carry these two fellas to work tomorrow. By God, they make me happy. Sometimes, a bad day can be made better by the littlest of things.(via comicbooks) Download the Iron Man 2 trailer in full HD at Apple.com

If you care about something you have to protect it – If you’re lucky enough to find a way of life you love, you have to find the courage to live it.

Quote reblogged from Tumbling towards ecstasy... with 84 notes

Don’t become a well-rounded person. Well rounded people are smooth and dull. Become a thoroughly spiky person. Grow spikes from every angle. Stick in their throats like a pufferfish. If you want to woo the muse of the odd, don’t read Shakespeare. Read Webster’s revenge plays. Don’t read Homer and Aristotle. Read Herodotus where he’s off talking about Egyptian women having public sex with goats. If you want to read about myth don’t read Joseph Campbell, read about convulsive religion, read about voodoo and the Millerites and the Munster Anabaptists. There are hundreds of years of extremities, there are vast legacies of mutants. There have always been geeks. There will always be geeks. Become the apotheosis of geek. Learn who your spiritual ancestors were. You didn’t come here from nowhere. There are reasons why you’re here. Learn those reasons. Learn about the stuff that was buried because it was too experimental or embarrassing or inexplicable or uncomfortable or dangerous.
